Burkeville is nestled among the tall pines of Northern Newton County. Burkeville is located at the intersection of State Highway 63E and U.S. Highway 87N. Toledo Bend Dam and Lake provides fishing, hiking, and recreation on the Northern border with Sabine County.  The Burkeville Area is truly a Sportsman Paradise with the largest man made lake in Texas (Toledo) connected with Lake Sam Rayburn just 20 miles to the West and connected by Scenic Rec 255.  Burkeville is a community of ethnic diversity supported by satellite communities of Toledo Village, Jamestown, Shankleville, Wiergate, Farrsville and Mayflower.
